I have decided that I am going to take a new approach to this blog. I am going to just share my heart and thoughts that come to me and things I am learning, instead of making it a daily devotion type.
That's all.

Our lives and actions depend a lot on our faith. We do what we are confident will have the best outcome. But have you ever thought about why we don't try the choices that don't seem the best? It is because it is uncomfortable. If we know what the outcome is going to be, why should we choose something different? This is where a huge deal of faith comes in.
The Bible says that if we have faith the size of a MUSTARD SEED, we can move mountains. What if our faith was bigger? What possibilities would that ensure? If we surrender our everything to Him, how much more would He be able to use us to our full potential?

"Come, let us bow down and worship, let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker. For He is our God and we are the people of His pasture, the flock under His care." -Psalm 95:6-7
We were created to worship our Creator. Problem is, most times we are found worshiping other things. And the sad part, we don't even realize it. What you worship is what you value most. God is our incredible Creator who has designed us specifically the way we are. He has given us each distinct qualities and personalities that make us who we are. Praise the Father for who He created you to be; the unique, incredible, fantastic you.

"We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed." -2 Corinthians 4:8-9
When times get hard and it feels like we are beat up or being persecuted until we can't take it anymore; we have a hope. God gives us hope. He is there to help us when we fall. He will lift us high on wings like that of an eagle and will allow us to not be faint. He will not give us more than we can handle. It is when we feel too overloaded that we should be looking to the Father most. He wants us to trade our yolks with Him. 'For His yolk is easy and His burden is light.'

"And you, acknowledge the God of your Father and serve Him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will reject you."
-1 Chronicles 28:9
Run to God for your hope. He is waiting for us to respond to His direction and call. Commit to serve Him wholeheartedly with an unwavering devotion to the One who created you. You are an intricately detailed being. Why? Because He cares SO much for you. He is the glue of our being. The Master of our soul. Don't miss out on the privilege to be used by Him. It is His desire. He wants to use us to fulfill the plans that are written out just for us. Be open and willing to Him and everything He has in store. He is waiting on us to surrender our will to Him.

"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." -John 14:6
Even in the foggiest part of our lives, He is still the way, our path. He is our guidance, showing us every step of the way. It may not be all at once, but that is because we wouldn't need faith if we knew every step we are supposed to be taking. It wouldn't make sense to rely on Him if we can already see the path. Our faith and hope should be in our Creator, our Father.
"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans to prosper you, plans for hope and a future." - Jermiah 29:11
Open your eyes, your heart, and your mind to what He has in store for you and trust that He is going to take care of everything. He will because He IS in control.

"And a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God" [Hebrews 7:19]
"Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith" [Hebrews 10:22a]
Allow yourself to be drawn in by our Father. He is our hope and our salvation. He has been so gracious to us. Why would we not want to be drawn to Him who has given His very life for us? 'The Bible teaches that we are always either drawing nearer to God or falling away. There is no holding pattern.' Let your desire be found on the side that is continually getting closer to God. He wants you. He loves you.

When our focus comes off Him, I believe it necessary to go back and reflect on the greatness of our Creator. He made us in His image. He is the source of our life. We are breathed into existence by Him. He loves us despite our flaws and although we stray, He comes after us.
We are His sheep. When a sheep strays, the Shepherd goes after the one lost sheep. And when the sheep falls, it cannot get back up on its own. Once the Shepherd finds His sheep, He holds the sheep, massages its legs, and loves on it. He then helps the sheep back to its feet, scolds the sheep for straying, tells the sheep that He loves it and still cares for it, and sends it back to the flock.
"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." -Psalm 51:10
Cry out to God. Allow Him to begin to renew and refine you in His fire. He has the power to do it. He is strength in your weakness. And a shield against your enemy.

"You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." -Jeremiah 29:13
When we think of worship 'we should have this incredible sense of unworthiness coupled with the opposing sense of total joy.' We have a closeness with God in sincere worship. It is the time when our heart is most open to all that He is and all that He desires. We should then seek Him with an open heart and mind to be directed in His ways, so OUR desires and thoughts are lined up with HIS.

"I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." -John 16:33
How awesome and unfathomable it is to know that we have someone who has overcome the world for us. He sets the enemy as a footstool under our feet. He is our shield and His words are our sword in times of distress. He is our superhero. And the battle has been won. He holds the keys to eternity!

"For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and of a sound mind." -2 Tim 1:7
Knowing this, we should be empowered and see that God's strength is inside of us. It is dwelling in the fibers of our being. He is our strength in our weakness. He is our courage in our meekness.

Foreward
This week I have been able to share with several people some of the thoughts that I have when I study scripture each day. My sister, Nikki, suggested to me last night that I write down the texts with these thoughts in them so that I would have them. So I thought, why not start a blog? In short, that's what the consistency of this blog will be. I am going to do my best to update it daily and I pray that it is an encouragement to all who read it.
[Also, feedback is much welcomed and I would love to hear your thoughts on the scripture]
